Matchmaker

A casual conversation last night:

Laura: “Oh, I hope Paul will be back from Mexico in time to make it to our party.”
Me: “Paul? Who’s Paul?”
Laura: “This new geologist at work. He’s in Mexico doing some field work right now. He is really nice and interesting. I have wanted to introduce you to him.”
Me: “I’m just letting you know that I am done with boys for awhile…”
Laura: (trying to act innocent) “What, I’m just saying that he is nice…”
Me: “I know you too well to believe that you have no ulterior motive”
Laura: “Well, you can still meet him…”

She never gives up.
