The fabric on both thumbs of my ski mittens is starting to wear away. All I can think of is that the constant wiping of my nose on my mittens is the culprit. Eew!

They make gloves with special rubber guards on the thumbs for that very reason. My brother got a pair for christmas a few years ago (he's a snowboarder) and was super excited about it. I'm sure if you tried EMS, Northface or any other high quality outdoor/ski stores, you'll be able to find some.
