I cheated a bit and watched some TV this weekend – I watched the Oscars last night with friends. I wasn’t overly impressed. And while the cable cord is actually unplugged, I am letting myself watch movies. So I buffed up for the party and watched both Walk the Line and Crash this weekend. They were excellent. Crash is a bit uncomfortable to sit through – the racism and cultural clashes are disturbing – but I think the film was meant to make you feel uncomfortable. Racism is uncomfortable.
I don't know whether or not it deserved to win for best picture. Nor do I care. I still *love*love*love* Brokeback Mountain, but Crash ain't too bad either.
